Every club should have a first team - an adult team. A soccer club, in most soccer playing countries, has youth teams and adult teams - within the same club. They support each other. The top, older youth players within a club are able to train with the adult teams, within a club, on a regular basis - to further their development.
Most of the world views youth soccer as a small part of the overall soccer experience. Adult soccer teams are the most important part of a club. Hence, youth soccer players are developed for a clubs first team. Youth soccer players dream of playing in their club's first team.
Below is information about a new league - owned, run and controlled by the teams - in an inexpensive manner. So youth soccer clubs start an adult team - lets play soccer for our entire life.

Even Oregon has more players in the 90 Regional Selection. Perhaps our best players do not go out for the USYSA ODP teams or the CYSA ODP coaches are selecting the wrong players. Maybe we are not developing enough players who can compete at that level. Perhaps the alternative - Y League ODP - keeps players away from the costly, ( in time and money) CYSA ODP teams. One thing is clear, we have two boys on the Regional team and Oregon has three. Who would of thunk........? What does CYSA plan to do, are they even aware........? Karl, Where are you and what do you think?
