“All we really need is a bunch of guys who are good guys, good with kids, and know the game. The rest will be fine,” he said. “We are burning kids out. The need to win the next tournament is the grand reason why we do everything, and so we manipulate the situation to find shortcuts to success. In many cases we just burn these guys out and in the end they haven’t mastered anything. We can do a lot better than that if we start thinking more about what makes the kids better players instead of just about winning meaningless games.”

A glimpse into PSV Eindhoven U10's "We don’t care if we lose"

PSV is trying something new. They are four years into a new plan which uses technical coaches for its players. The youngest players are trained to become dribblers. They are trying to create special players who can break games open. Players like, Robben, Ronaldinho, Giggs, Christiano  Ronaldo, Figo, and Beckham........

Other clubs around the world are doing this as well. Especially in Europe where street soccer has declined....Thanks to Gabe Ruud for the notes taken during this visit we made at PSV Eindhoven.
