I stood mesmerized by a coach who stalked along the sidelines shouting
detailed instructions to his players as if he were a human joystick
that could control their physical movements with just the sound of his
voice. “Danny, move left.” “Dribble right and go, right and go!” “Take
it left and cross. Cross! Aahh, for God’s sake! I said cross!”

Starting in 2007, Major League Soccer is requiring each of its 13 teams
to start a youth program, beginning with at least two teams right away.
The long-range goal is for each club to have six youth teams, with ages
ranging from Under-14 to Under-25, to develop their own talent.

In his Zen-like interviews Seedorf comments on the coach's disregard
towards him were always polite and patient, saying how he respected Van
Basten in making his own choices and how big a player he was. In a
recent poll almost 75% wanted to see Seedorf back in the squad.

Coaches Education is very important. Every coach should be committed to
constant education - especially if you are paid. Coaching courses are
one way of obtaining your education. Most people believe you have to go
through the CYSA state courses to get to the USSF National Courses. This is not true.
You can actually skip the CYSA " D " course by taking the NSCAA National Diploma . After completing the NSCAA National Diploma you can continue in their courses but you can also get a waiver into the USSF "C" and depending on your playing experience even the USSF "B" course. The highest course is the USSF " A" license but no waivers are granted for that course.
