Offer Soccer Year Round - Start A Club League! Print E-mail
on 16 Jul 2007

It is clear  Northern California Clubs must develop their own leagues for ages U4 through U12. The most motivated soccer coaches and clubs must help provide soccer to the grassroots on a more year round basis.

As long as CYSA provides soccer seasons lasting only 2-3 months a year, our base of young players are sentenced to a life time of mediocrity in the world's greatest sport.

Why should youngsters not play soccer more year round? Imagine playing soccer for 2-3 months a year as an eight year old and returning as a nine year old after 9-10 months. Would you enjoy the game......?

In any case read about UEFA's Grassroots Project and borrow their ideas
to form your own leagues with US Club League Sanctioning. Please make them
more year round.
Looking at the pyramind in the Grassroots Football Newsletter #1 it is
clear clubs in Northern California must develop their own leagues for ages
U4 through U12.

Check out the Colorado Rush model as well. They have over 5,500 youth
players and 1000 adults in their Rush Leagues.
