Four Santa Clara Broncos Selected in 2008 MLS SuperDraft
Four Santa Clara University soccer players were selected in the 2008 MLS SuperDraft Friday afternoon. The Chicago Fire picked Peter Lowry, who was a first-team All-American in 2007, in the second round with the 26th overall pick. Matt Marquess went in the third round with the 39th selection to the Kansas City Wizards, while Jamil Roberts and Matt Hatzke were picked in the fourth round by FC Dallas (45th overall) and the Los Angeles Galaxy (51st overall), respectively. The last time Santa Clara had four players selected in the draft was 1996. (more)

USF's Brandon McDonald Selected in Fourth Round of 2008 MLS Draft

It was an exciting day for USF soccer in the 2008 Major League Soccer Super Draft. Two Dons were selected as Rob Valentino went to New England with the 13th overall selection in the first round and then Brandon McDonald was tabbed by the Los Angeles Galaxy with the 46th pick in the fourth round.

USF's Rob Valentino Selected in First Round of 2008 MLS Draft

USF men's soccer standout Rob Valentino enters the next phase of his playing career with a new team. Friday the New England Revolution selected the Dons All-American and 2007 Hermann Trophy Watch List member with the 13th pick in the first round of thee 2008 Major League Soccer Draft. Valentino is the first USF inaugural round MLS draft pick.
