FUEGO TO MEET CHIVAS USA IN RUBBER MATCH MLS team returns to Fresno following November loss Fresno, Calif. – The Fresno Fuego announced today that the team will take on Chivas USA from Major League Soccer in an exhibition match on Sunday, March 16 at Chukchansi Park at 4:00 p.m. This will be the third meeting between the two clubs in the last year. Chivas won the first match, 5-0 last March, and the Fuego shocked the MLS squad 3-1 in their last match-up in November. Chivas USA will bring its entire squad to Fresno for this game, as a tune-up for the MLS season which begins on March 30. There will be two preliminary games played prior to the Fuego/Chivas USA match-up. The California Odyssey 91 Boys will take on the Colorado Rush 91 Boys at 10:30 a.m., and the California Odyssey 89 Boys match up against the Colorado Rush 89 Boys at 12:30 p.m. Both of the preliminary matches are league games for the U.S. Soccer Academy, a grouping of which only 64 teams across the country are part of. The league is in its first season, and features the elite players of youth soccer in the United States. Tickets for the game will go on sale at the Chukchansi Park Box Office on Tuesday, March 4. The cost of tickets bought prior to the day of the game is $15. Tickets will be available on the day of the game for $20. Kids’ tickets (10 and younger) are free. The Fuego open the 2008 season on Saturday, April 26, when they host the San Francisco Seals at 7:00 p.m. at Chukchansi Park.
