"I recommend that you dedicate every spare moment to training."

From Laureano Ruiz: "To have any chance of being a great soccer player you need to immerse yourself in the game, be totally single minded and train hour after hour.

If you want to succeed in this sport you must have a real passion for the game, this desire and appetite to play will help during the long and arduous training sessions and the difficult matches. The average professional soccer player starts playing before he is 8 and retires between 30-35: an average of 25 years playing the sport. This is an awfully long time if your heart is not in the game.

Basically, in order to succeed in the game, I recommend that you dedicate every spare moment to training. There are no short cuts. There is no substitute for hard work. However, it is important to bear in mind that “training” can involved a variety of different activities: it might mean watching a video of soccer greats, practicing ball skills, playing in a 3 against 3 or listening to advice from your friends or your coach. This is all training!

This total dedication is the only way to obtain the necessary knowledge and skills and the desire and will to win. Which will proves sol invaluable during the hard competitions that lie ahead. "
