Living for football
Working together with the
"pitch people" as well as on UEFA sports-political issues keeps Omdal's
love for football fully aflame. "I think of Norway's winning goal from
the penalty spot against Brazil in the 1998 [FIFA] World Cup. Even now,
when I see the replay, I still say to my wife: 'I hope it goes in.' At
the committee meeting, I've seen great goals by Pelé, by Marco van
Basten – and all of this is why we live for football...."
