More women and girls than ever play competitive football in Germany. The DFB – Germany’s football assocoation – counts more than one million women and girls among the total membership, which also reached a new plateau with more than 6.5 million members. The latest DFB census listed a total of 1.002,605 female members, a growth of 47,417 women and girls compared to 2007.
