Born in US but Playing for Mexico.."US coaches too easily impressed with the build of young players" Print E-mail

Thanks to Jeff Jenkins for this one!

This is what happens when the US Soccer Federation farms out the selection of national team players (ODP) to USYSA State Federations.

This is what happens when ODP coaches try to win, looking for effective, bigger players rather than searching for talented players who, once they grow, will dominate the bigger, less skillful meat heads so favored by ODP, college, and MLS coaches.

  • Who selects the coaches, who select the players at the District level?
  • Who allows them, ODP, to charge players money to tryout for our National Team Program?
  • Who are the coaches...the gate keepers at the district and state level of the National Team Program?
  • How many talented players do they miss each year because of poor selection, cost and coaching?
